No. People use Explain for all kinds of subjects, like biology, mathematics, philosophy, culture, language learning, entertainment, and more. Like any AI tool, it can make mistakes, so double-check anything important.
Does Explain only work in English?
No. Explain supports a range of languages. Try asking in your native language and see if it works. If your language isn’t supported yet, request it in our WhatsApp group.
Is it really free?
Yes, for now. At some point we’ll need to charge for the tokens we spend, but we expect it to be cheap.
Does it work with other coding agents?

How does Explain work?
Ask @Explain a question. It researches the relevant context and creates a narrated video walkthrough.
How does Explain ground its answers?
Your coding agent uses the relevant files, conversation history, and other context it already has. When it needs outside knowledge, it can search the web and cite its sources. The agent decides when external research is useful, so not every explainer includes citations.
Why video instead of a text answer?
Video combines diagrams, animations, and the relevant code to build intuition. The narration talks you through it like a private tutor would.
Do I need a Scrimba account?
Your explainer starts as an unlisted video at a secret URL. To make it private, open that URL while signed in to your Scrimba account. This claims the explainer and adds it to your account.
